Swimming - One of the most popular (and refreshing) activities at Camp Strawderman is swimming. After a busy afternoon of riding or tennis, it's great to laugh and splash with friends.

Archery - Beginners, intermediates and advanced archers receive instruction in safety, care of equipment and skill improvement.

Tennis - Instruction is offered for all ability levels following U.S. Tennis Association guidelines. Tournaments are held throughout the summer.

Tumbling and Dance - This activity teaches the basics of gymnastics and dance. A tumbling and dance show is a culminating activity.

Arts and Crafts - One of the most popular activities, campers of all ages enjoy such things as tie-dyeing, painting, basket making, cross-stitching, weaving and Indian beadwork.

Choir - Campers who enjoy choral music may join the choir, which sings for Sunday services.

Hiking and Nature Studies - Some of the best hiking trails in the Shenandoah Valley are steps away from our cabin. Hikers learn about hiking equipment and camp crafts, nature study, wood lore and the laws of the trails in our national forest.

Indians - Campers and counselors as well enjoy this role playing game started in the 1950's, consisting of games connected with Native American life, the study of Indian lore, crafts and ceremonies. A spectacular Indian council called Wakiyan is given each year near the end of the camp season. For this event, campers learn dances and present a Native American legend. They display authentic Indian attire which they have made during the summer.
